2024-25 Champions League group stage draw will take place on August 30th at 12:00 AM Beijing time. This season, there have been major changes to the Champions League format, including a new draw procedure.

In the upcoming season, there will be a total of 36 teams competing in the group stage, with 29 teams already confirmed and the final 7 spots to be determined in the playoff next week. The teams will be divided into 4 pots for the draw, with 9 teams in each pot. Each team will play 8 matches against 8 different opponents, with 4 home games and 4 away games.

Under the new format, all teams will be ranked in one league. The result of each match, each goal, and each point will affect the final standings in the group stage. The top 8 teams will automatically advance to the round of 16, while teams ranked 9th to 24th will compete in two-legged playoffs to determine the remaining spots in the round of 16. Teams ranked 25th to 36th will be eliminated. In the round of 16, teams will play home and away matches, with the winners advancing to the next round. The final will be a single-match showdown to determine the champion.

Pot 1: Manchester City, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Liverpool, Inter Milan, Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig, Barcelona

Pot 2: Bayer Leverkusen, Atletico Madrid, Atalanta, Juventus, Benfica, Arsenal, Club Brugge, Shakhtar Donetsk, AC Milan

Pot 3: Feyenoord, Sporting Lisbon, PSV Eindhoven, Celtic

Pot 4: Monaco, Aston Villa, Bologna, Girona, Stuttgart, Sturm Graz, Brest
