the Guardian reports today that, according to sources, Zaha is set to join Lyon on loan from Galatasaray for the duration of the season. The French club will reportedly cover a significant portion of the player's wages.

It is understood that Lyon chairman, Aulas, played a crucial role in the negotiations with Zaha after speaking to him earlier this week. Aulas, who is also the largest shareholder in Crystal Palace, is said to have been instrumental in reaching the agreement with Galatasaray.

In this deal, Lyon will not pay a loan fee but will cover a majority of Zaha's wages, which are believed to be around £130,000 per week.

Previously, Crystal Palace had held talks with Leicester City about the possibility of Zaha returning to the Premier League. Palace chairman, Parish, had expressed his willingness to bring Zaha back without any hesitation. However, it is understood that any transfer to a club in England would result in Zaha having to pay income tax in both the UK and Turkey, which ultimately led to the collapse of the transfer plan.
